FULSHEAR, Texas – One person is dead and two others were injured after an accident in Fulshear on Saturday.
F.M. 1093 west of F.M. 1463 is closed as police continue their investigation.
KPRC 2 was told at about 6:30 p.m., a woman in her early 30s was driving in a sports utility vehicle on 1093 when she suddenly swerved into oncoming traffic. Authorities said the woman collided head-on with a van traveling the opposite direction.
A father and his eight-year-old son were in the van. Investigators said they were airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital. The woman in the SUV died at the scene.
"It's never easy," Capt. Mike McCoy with the Fulshear Police Department said. "I've seen a lot of accidents. Any time there is someone involved who passes, especially a young female like this who may or may not have kids. We're trying to figure out if she's married. It's always sad because it can happen so quickly and life can end so quickly."
