COLLEGE STATION (NBC News) – Monday marks 14 years since the tragic collapse of the Aggie Bonfire that claimed 12 lives and injured 27 others on the Texas A&M University campus.
Students still honor the fallen at the Bonfire Memorial, built at the site of the November 18, 1999 accident.

The Aggie Bonfire has not returned to the A&M campus.
Instead, it's been replaced by a smaller, non-university sanctioned bonfire funded by students and located just northwest of College Station.
