HOUSTON – For the second day in a row, students at the YES Prep School at the Brays Oaks campus in southwest Houston were put on lockdown.
"My teacher told us, 'This wasn't a drill. We're locking the doors, go against the walls.' We were told not to use our phones," eleventh grader Gregory Phillips said.
Phillips said for two hours, students had to sit up against the wall until the all clear was given both days.
"Yesterday was for two hours and today was for two hours," Phillips said.
"It really is kind of scary," his mother, Lauda Phillips, said.
She said parents received a phone call from the school letting them know what was going on. But the school was on lockdown, so no one could go in and no students or staff were allowed to leave.
"You want to know that it's going on. But the fact you can't do anything about it is kind of scary," Lauda Phillips said.
