HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man has been charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death at a North Harris County home, deputies said.
It happened around 7:05 p.m. Wednesday in the 3200 block of Atherton Canyon Lane.
Deputies said the 23-year-old victim was visiting from Seattle. Her 26-year-old boyfriend, Jarrell Lamarck Darrington, was visiting from Atlanta. They were staying at the home of Darrington's aunt.
The aunt called 911 Wednesday night to report her nephew was stabbing his girlfriend to death. The victim's 3-year-old child was in the house at the time of the stabbing.
"We have no indication of how long they had been together, what their argument was about, it was a disturbance to where it got violent and he stabbed her to death." said Sergeant Collier, Harris County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived at the home, the victim was dead. They set up a perimeter to find Darrington and found him just after 9 p.m. in a trailer park about a mile away from where the stabbing happened.
Deputies said residents of the trailer park called 911 after spotting Darrington walking around with what appeared to be blood stains on his shirt.
K-9s helped track Darrington down. He was shot with a stun gun and arrested.
Deputies are not yet releasing the names of the victim or the suspect, pending notification of family members.
Darrington is being held without bond. His next court appearance is Jan. 4.
