SAN ANTONIO – One man was sent to the hospital on Monday, after a brazen gunman walked into a Southside beauty salon and fired shots at a 26-year-old victim.
The shooting occurred on the 2000 block of Pleasanton Road just after 7 p.m.
Police said the victim was shot twice in the legs as he sat defenseless in a chair, where he had been getting a haircut just moments before.
Witnesses told police that the gunman walked in the salon, pointed a gun at the people inside and ordered them to move away from the 26-year-old victim, who was still sitting in the chair.
The four employees and one other customer moved away.
Police said that is when the gunman fired shots at the victim's legs.
A woman at the scene, who was too scared to appear on camera, tells us her 18-year-old daughter was getting her hair colored at the time of the shooting.
The woman also said that just last week, her son was shot in the back, also on the South Side.
"I'm just thankful to God that she's fine and nothing happened to her," she said. "And, I’m thankful to God that my son's here and he's doing good too."
Police said the victim is expected to be OK.
As for the shooter, police said the victim claims he did not know who he was, but that he took off running. As of late Monday night, the shooter was still on the run.
