TOMBALL, Texas – A Spring man is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday on charges that he took cell phone pictures of a 13-year-old boy inside a Walmart in Tomball.
Michael Gene Walker, 51, who is a convicted sex offender, is facing a charge of voyeurism.
Tomball detectives said Walker, who was working as a tax preparer at the Jackson Hewitt tax service inside the store on Tomball Parkway, followed the 13-year-old into the restroom Friday afternoon and occupied the stall next to the teen.
Detectives said he then slid his phone underneath the stall and took pictures of the boy. The 13-year-old told his mother, who confronted Walker and then went to police to file a report.
"Her actions and quick response led to this investigation being conducted and a good arrest being made," Detective Albert Chambers said.
Detectives quickly discovered Walker has a lengthy record. In 2008, he was sentenced to 10 years probation for possession of pornography and is a registered sex offender.
Walked is in jail with no bond and is scheduled to make his next court appearance Wednesday.
