HOUSTON – A woman is facing child abandonment charges Monday following accusations she left two children alone at a residence inside a southwest Houston apartment complex.
Police said Aneilka Pardo, 30, left two boys, ages 5 and 9, alone Thursday around 11:15 p.m. inside a residence near Forum West Drive and Forum Park Drive. Pardo allegedly left the boys alone while she went to work.

The boys were asleep when police came to the residence, according to Houston authorities. The children told investigators this wasn't first time she has left them alone.
Pardo's husband called authorities with concerns his children had been left alone, police said. Pardo and her husband are separated, according to Houston authorities.
The children were released to their father, officers said.
Pardo is charged with child abandonment with intent to return. Her bail is set at $2,000.
