HOUSTON – A man's beaten body was found in a ransacked apartment near the Galleria Wednesday night.
According to police, family members became concerned when they didn't hear from Jeremiah Mims after three days.
When the family went to check on him at about 10 p.m., they found the body of the 60-year-old lying inside his apartment in the Briarwood Apartment Homes on Winrock off Westheimer.
Police said the apartment door was unlocked, leading them to believe Mims may have known the person who killed him.
The motive for the beating is under investigation. Police said they do not have any suspects in the case.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
