Man allegedly fires at Goose Creek school bus

HOUSTON – A man is arrested after Baytown police say he possibly fired shots at a school bus.

Right now, it's still unclear if any students were on that bus.

The man arrested in this case is still behind bars.

Baytown police say Johnson Dowdye Jr. was arrested on Thursday.

He was cuffed after officers responded to a report of person with a weapon and possible shots fired at a Goose Creek Independent School District school bus just off of State Highway 146.

A description of the suspect was given by a witness, and Dowdye was later located and identified.

Authorities say he did have a handgun, and he tried to hide it from police before being arrested.

He's now charged with felon in possession of a firearm.

Fortunately, there was no report of any damage to the school bus due to any gun fire.
