Family hoping for best after San Antonio-area teen vanishes during spring break

Justin Walker last seen Saturday night

FAIR OAKS RANCH, Texas – It's been days since Justin Walker’s mom and dad have heard from their son, who was on a spring break trip with friends.

Walker was last seen by friends leaving a concert Saturday night on South Padre Island.

This story comes to us from our sister station KSAT-TV in San Antonio.

John and Debra Walker said they hope someone has information that will bring their son home safely.

"It's a nightmare we can't wake up from," said John Walker. "We are in disbelief, still hoping. All we can do is hope."

Justin, a student at Boerne-Champion High School left for South Padre last week with a group of friends.

Debra Walker last spoke to her son on Facetime and said it appeared he was having a fun spring break.

"We were worried about the usual things," said John Walker. "Did he get pulled over for speeding? A wrecked car? Drinking? Something! Nothing to turn up missing."

According to the law enforcement officials in Cameron County, Walker was last seen walking out of the Ultimate Music Experience concert at the Schlitterbahn Waterpark early Saturday morning.

John Walker said his son’s friends spent hours searching for him.

"We didn't have word about it until 12 hours after the fact," said John Walker. "The boys didn’t have phones. They were dead, couldn't charge them (and) the charger in the car didn't work."

Walker's family is now joining the search in South Padre, leaving San Antonio Wednesday and organizing a community group to help in the efforts.

They are asking anyone with information about where their son is to come forward.

"No one thinks it'll happen to their child," said John Walker. "And, so the hard part is the waiting of course."

Cameron County officials did find Justin's car near the tent area where he was staying.

Anyone who knows something about Justin to call them at 956-761-5283.
