HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man is in custody after he escaped deputies while naked and handcuffed Tuesday.
According to officials, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office was serving a warrant for Andrew Rabe, 23, at a home on High Plains Drive at Sun Glen Boulevard when the naked man ran from deputies after they handcuffed him.
At one point, while police were searching for Rabe, a neighbor found a pair of handcuffs in the street, but investigators say a deputy dropped those chasing Rabe. He was found an hour later two streets away hiding in the attic of this home.
Emergency crews placed him in a gown and wheeled him on a stretcher into an ambulance.
Rabe appeared to be alert, but his condition is unknown.
Deputies say Rabe now faces two felony evading arrest charges and a burglary charge after being accused of stealing a pair of pants from the house he broke into.
Stephens and Franz Elementary Schools were on "secured mode status" as result of the search.
Katy Independent School District sent the following statement to guardians:
"Dear Stephens Elementary Parents/Guardians and Staff,
