HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for the person who attacked an elderly man as he was walking into a store Friday. The robbery happened in the parking lot of a Sam's Club on Fuqua at the Gulf Freeway.
The 82-year-old man asked Channel 2 not to use his name, but said his wallet containing $300 in cash was stolen.
"I was just walking to Sam's to go pay a bill and somebody jumped me," the man said.
The man said he noticed a car pull in behind him right before a man jumped out of the back seat.
"I see a car, I think it's gonna park and out of the blue, somebody jumped me," the man said.
The man said the robber tackled him from behind, hit him in the head and grabbed his wallet. The robber then jumped back into the car and got away.
The elderly victim was not seriously hurt.
Police said they only got a vague description of the robber; An African American man wearing a hoodie who was in a grey four-door Pontiac.
