HOUSTON – A man lost his life Saturday morning after being shot in the back at home in southwest Houston.
Eric McIntyre, 34, was shot at least once around 3 a.m. outside a residence at Shannon Hills Drive near S. Dairy Ashford, according to the Houston Police Department.

Investigators said McIntyre was visiting a friend's house when he got up and walked outside.
McIntyre's friends said they heard multiple gunshots before the victim stumbled inside collapsed.
Police said McIntyre died while being taken to an area hospital.
According to witnesses, a black Cadillac Escalade was driving in the area moments before the shooting.
The department has not released a motive or information on the shooter.
