HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are searching for a man accused of inappropriately touching a young girl at a local Walmart.
Investigators said the man followed a 12-year-old girl and her mother through a Walmart Supercenter in the 5600 block of Sam Houston Parkway North in east Harris County.
The child said when the two stopped in an aisle of the women's clothing section, he brushed past the girl and grabbed her, then walked away.
"That's pretty sad," said Tiyana Clark. "This is the world we're living in."
Sheriff's investigators said surveillance cameras showed the man following a 12-year-old girl and her mother around the store. When the pair stopped in the clothes aisle, deputies said the man walked up and groped the girl before running off.
Her mother reported the incident to the store.
"(We) always let our older two girls go over to the electronics department. I don't know if that's going to be happening anymore," said Heather Lane.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office believes the man may have done so in the past and may continue to follow and fondle children.
The man is described as Hispanic and weighing 150 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.
