HOUSTON – A man died Wednesday after he was shot while he was inspecting his car after an accident, authorities said.
George Jackson, 21, and a friend were driving on Beechnut Street around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday when they struck a curb, authorities said.
Police said Jackson drove into the Leawood Plaza apartment complex to check his car for damage, and a man approached him.
The friend inside the car said he heard Jackson and the man arguing, then heard a gunshot.
Police said the friend got out of the car to check on Jackson and saw the other man running down the street.
The friend put Jackson in the car and drove him to West Houston Medical Center where Jackson died, according to authorities.
