A man has been found shot and killed in his home, according to homicide detectives.
The shooting happened in a home on West Road and Estrellita Drive in northeast Houston.
Family said Robert Hill, 56, was found dead in his bedroom by his son early Saturday morning.
“He (victim's son) left at a certain point, the other gentleman was fine, came back a couple of hours later and found him dead and found the house ransacked, so that indicates they were looking for something," said Sgt. Hector Garcia, with HPD Homicide Unit.
Hill and son live together, but the son was not home during the time of the shooting, according to authorities.
“He (victim's son) told me he (victim) had no enemies, he was a hardworking man and he can't think of any reason for this to happen,” said Garcia.
Detectives said it looks like someone forced their way into the home and shot Hill while he was sleeping between midnight and 2 a.m.
"The most important thing that we can obtain is background information, why would anyone do this. Was this house particularly targeted? Why was it targeted," said Garcia.
Police have no witnesses at this time.
