LEAGUE CITY, Texas – The League City Director of Human Resources and Civil Service, Queenell Fox, submitted a letter of resignation to city manager Mark Rohr on Thursday.

Fox's resignation was effective immediately and followed questions about inaccurate information provided to the city's Finance Department for a routine audit, according to a news release from the city.

The audit, conducted annually, is done to ensure that the city is properly adhering to all policies to help further transparency between the city and its residents.

Concerns about the accuracy of the information provided by Fox were brought to the attention of the city manager, who determined that there was no personal benefit to Fox, the release said.

"It is essential in performing the city’s business that we adhere to our rules and regulations and maintain the highest possible standards in discharging our duties," Rohr said.  "Although I liked Queenell as a person and think she made many contributions to the organization, she suffered a serious lapse in judgment that could not be tolerated."

According to the release, to make sure the city’s review was complete, the League City Police Department was asked to review the matter to determine whether there was any criminal violation. Results from the investigation were presented to the District Attorney’s Office, which declined to pursue charges.
