Fake officer forces teen to have sex in Channelview area

CHANNELVIEW, Texas – A teenager was sexually assaulted in the Channelview area by a man who posed as a police officer, according to deputies.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office has released surveillance video of the man they believe committed the crime about 4:30 a.m. on Oct 15.

Investigators said the man approached a 16-year-old who was walking on a sidewalk. He identified himself as a member of law enforcement and told her to get into his car. The man said he was going to take her to the police station for breaking curfew.

The girl told investigators he took her under the overpass of Highway 90 where the San Jacinto River passes under the freeway. She said he forced her to have sex with him.

The teen described her attacker as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 280 pounds. He had a mustache and other facial hair and may have an earring in his left earlobe. He was driving a black, 2007-2009 Saturn Aura, which may have had temporary or "paper tag plate" affixed to the rear bumper of the vehicle.
