Teen arrested after school shooting threat for social media 'likes'

PEARLAND, Texas – A Pearland High School student was arrested Wednesday morning after threatening to shoot up school unless people “liked” his post, police said.

Pearland Police Department officials received several calls regarding the teen’s frightening comments towards the high school, police said. After investigation, the boy was taken into custody and is being held in the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Center.

He is being charged with terroristic consequences for making blind threats online.

Following his arrest, police plan to have extra officers at the school’s area as precaution.
