HOUSTON – Two children and the driver of an SUV were injured Friday morning when a vehicle crashed into an apartment building in southwest Houston.
The crash was reported about 9:15 a.m. at an apartment complex near the intersection of Creekbend and Braes Forest drives.
Robert Hunt, the father of a family who was inside the apartment, said his 2-year-old twins, a boy and girl, were injured in the crash, but both were out of the hospital by early afternoon. His daughter, Sophia, suffered a gash to her head and his son, Brandon, was trapped under debris. He and his wife were not injured.

Hunt said, "I didn't worry about the SUV. I heard my wife screaming in the back room screaming about one of our children. So I hopped over the SUV. And I found one of my children under the debris."
Police said the driver of the SUV was also injured and taken to the hospital, but the extent of that person's injuries was not immediately released.
Neighbor Nichole Jeams said, "All I could think was I pray everything is OK. This is a very dangerous intersection here. We have problems. People speeding through here all of the time. People need to understand we have children out here that's playing."
Workers spent Friday afternoon closing up the giant hole in the side of the building. Police said the SUV would remain inside the building to prevent a collapse.
Houston police are investigating the cause of the accident.
