Surveillance video released in woman's northeast Houston death

HOUSTON – Police released surveillance video Monday in the case of a woman whose body was found in the middle of a northeast Houston street during the summer.

Rena Lumpkins, 54, was found dead Aug. 23 in the 10000 block of Downs Lane.

Investigators said it appeared that Lumpkins had been shot and then pushed out of a vehicle that was seen leaving the area.

Police released video of the vehicle believed to be connected to Lumpkins' death. They described it only as a light-colored SUV.

Anyone with information about Lumpkins' death or the vehicle seen in the surveillance video is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
