BAYTOWN, Texas – The owner of a home on the corner of Crestmont and Louise in Baytown spent the afternoon scrubbing spray-painted graffiti off the siding.
Overnight, someone came and wrote the words “Get out,” and “Death was here.”
It’s especially upsetting to neighbors who know what happened in the home two months ago.
“Pretty sure everybody in the neighborhood knows this is the house,” said Danielle McKiernan, who lives just one block away.
“It was very hard to know that had happened and that the mom and that little girl were in that house,” said Kymberlee Liles, who lives across the street.
In November, Cynthia Morris and her 13-year-old daughter were shot to death inside the home they rented.
Cynthia’s oldest daughter, Kirsten Fritch, was also killed, but her body was found a few days later in a Texas City field.
Police arrested Fritch’s boyfriend, Jesse Dobbs, and charged him with the murders.
Now, neighbors believe someone is trying to send a message with these spray-painted words.
“It was really sad that someone would take advantage of a situation that was already tragic,” Liles said.
Baytown police said the owner of the home has been working to clean and fix up the property.
He discovered the graffiti and reported it to the police, who are now investigating.
“Whoever did it has some nerve to do that,” McKiernan said.
