HOUSTON – A man was shot Saturday night after he broke into his family member's home in northwest Houston, police said.
The incident was reported at 9:05 p.m. in the 1200 block of Cheshire Lane.

Police said the suspect was shot by a handgun.
He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
There were no other injuries reported.
His relation to the family member was not released.
