WALLER COUNTY, Texas – An investigation into an allegation of sexual assault at the Waller County jail is being handed over to the Texas Rangers, according to the Waller County District Attorney’s Office.
On March 17, authorities said a female inmate was sexually assaulted by a male inmate while performing "trusty type" duties.

Waller County District Attorney Elton Mathis shared this statement with KPRC 2, “The Waller County District Attorney’s Office has been made aware of the recent allegation of Sexual Assault at the Waller County Jail. The Texas Rangers have been asked to investigate the allegation. We have no further information that we are able to share at this time.”
It's unclear at this time who is making the allegation, but KPRC 2 is working to get more information, and we will bring it to you as soon as we have it.

"On Friday March 17, 2017 the Waller County Jail Staff received information that a female inmate had been sexually assaulted by a male inmate performing trusty type of duties. An investigation is being conducted by the Waller County Sheriff’s Office. The Waller County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Rangers are monitoring the investigation. This investigation includes criminal aspects as well as administrative responsibilities of jail staff."
