KATY, Texas – One of Texas' largest convenience stores and fueling centers is working to build the biggest car wash in the world.
Buc-ee's new location in Katy off I-10 and the new Cane Island Parkway will also include a car wash that the Buc-ee's crew believes will be the largest and longest in the world.
According to Houston Business Journal the car wash is expected to be 225-feet-long and is set to open this fall.
HBJ reported the new Buc-ee's has unique design elements that are different from the other 24 locations.
The Katy location will be the first Buc-ee’s to open in the Houston suburb. According to the HBJ, an agreement with the city to begin construction was approved in March 2016.
The 50,000-square-foot, 100 pump mega-center is expected to bring about $25 million annually in sales tax to the city of Katy.
Buc-ee's are large stores with fueling areas that have 80-120 pumps for gas and diesel fuel. In addition to fuel, the stores offer their own line of Buc-ee’s brand merchandise, a variety of original recipes on top of a huge selection of food, as well as homemade fudge.
