Spring man accused of practicing dentistry without license

Horacio Munoz

HOUSTON – A 41-year-old Spring man is facing charges of offering dentistry services without a license.

Houston police sent an undercover officer to the Crosby Dental Center at 6618 FM 2100 on May 3 after receiving a tip that Horacio Francisco Munoz was practicing dentistry without a license, according to authorities.

Munoz offered his services as a dentist and also offered to prescribe lidocaine for pain, investigators said.

Munoz is a licensed dental assistant, according to police.

Houston police said there was not a licensed dentist in the clinic when Munoz offered the services.

Police believe that Munoz treated more people, and they are encouraging those who have been treated by him to contact the major offenders unit at 713-308-3100.

Munoz is facing two counts of unlawful practice of dentistry and delivery or offering delivery of dangerous drugs.
