HOUSTON – A fire ripped through the Southwest Inn four years ago Wednesday.
The fire is considered one of Houston's worst tragedies.
Four firefighters were killed when the intense flames caused the building to collapse on May 31, 2013.
Fire captain Bill Downing suffered serious injuries from the fire and died this past March.
Crews were out on Tuesday to mow the lawn and cut back weeds in front of what's left of the building.
A small memorial of four red crosses bearing the station numbers of the fallen firefighters stands in place of the inn.
