HOUSTON – A man was found dead Sunday afternoon outside a southwest Houston apartment complex, police said.
The incident was reported at 5:24 p.m. near the intersection of Beechaven Street and Ridgecroft Road.
Police said they responded to reports of an assault in the area. They said officers found the body of Alejandro Martinez, 36, in a grassy area.
Investigators said witnesses reported seeing three men walk up to Martinez, attack him and then shoot him. They said the trio fled the area in a silver or gold, newer-model, four-door car.
Neighbors told KPRC2 they heard several gunshots ring out and then saw the victim lying next to a gray pickup truck.
