HOUSTON – Houston police were involved in a chase with a man driving a black Jeep in northwest Houston on Wednesday.
Authorities were in pursuit of the Jeep in the Acres Homes area around 4:15 p.m.

Before the man in the vehicle bailed near 2900 De Soto Street, he pushed his mother out of the moving vehicle, according to authorities.

While running away from police, the man crawled over a fence and jumped over another fence before being caught by a police dog in an open field.
The man was seen being walked away in handcuffs.

The suspect has not been identified.
Authorities said the man may have been off his medication and is being taken to a hospital.
