HOUSTON – Randalls is closing three stores in the Houston area, including its flagship store in Montrose.
Connie Yates, a spokeswoman for the Houston-based grocery store chain, said careful analysis led to the decision to close the stores, located at 2075 Westheimer Road in Houston, 5800 New Territory Blvd. in Sugar Land and 9420 College Park Drive in The Woodlands.

"Closing an underperforming store is always a tough decision, but sometimes a necessary step to position the company for greater success and growth," Yates said in a written statement.
All three stores will close Dec. 1.
Yates said the company is working to place employees at the stores being shuttered at other Randalls locations.
