When deputies arrived, the woman, identified as Colleen Dickens, ran to her vehicle and took off.
A chase began after Dickens led authorities to the 6600 block of Peerless Street, where police had deployed spike strips and flattened three of the her tires, investigators said.
"The suspect was extremely combative and spit on several Sheriff deputies during the booking process therefore, a spit guard had to be placed over her mouth in order to get her mugshot taken," said Pamela Greenwood, public information officer for Harris County Precinct 7.
Dickens was taken into custody shortly thereafter.
