HOUSTON – The second person killed Wednesday in a multivehicle crash on the Grand Parkway has been identified.
The crash was reported about 2 p.m. on the eastbound side of the parkway near FM Road 2920.
Witnesses told the Harris County Sheriff’s Office that the man driving the F150 westbound on the Grand Parkway drifted off the road, banged into a concrete wall, then crossed over the median into the opposite side of the freeway.
Sgt. Aric Albers, of the Sheriff’s Office, said the truck then became airborne before striking a Lexus, sheering the top off it.
Investigators said Linda Fuggiti was driving the Lexus on the eastbound side of the Grand Parkway when the Ford F150 went over it and crashed into a Chevy operated by Michael Brown, the second victim.
“It struck the (Lexus) that was traveling eastbound pretty high up on the vehicle. That eastbound vehicle almost acted like a ramp,” Albers said.
The truck continued on to strike three more cars before landing on its side, according to Albers, who described the multicar wreck as the “worst he’s seen in years.”
Two people have been confirmed dead, while five others were taken to Memorial Hermann Woodlands Hospital. All of the injured are said to not have life-threatening injuries, including the driver of the pickup truck, Albers said. Officials said three victims are in good condition, one is in serious condition and the other is in critical condition.

It has not been determined if the driver of the pickup truck will face any charges, as the investigation is ongoing.
Albers said the driver of the truck that caused the crash “doesn’t know” what happened, was probably traveling the speed limit of 75 mph, was not intoxicated and is cooperating with investigators.
He expects the case to be handed over the district attorney's office and then could be forwarded to a grand jury.
Michael and Charlotte Brown's Chevy HHR was crushed. Charlotte was rushed to Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands with a broken collarbone and other injuries.
Michael did not survive.
The retired parents and grandparents moved to Humble 15 years ago. They live across the street from the Butler family.
"He's just the most wonderful friend," Troy Butler said through tears.
The Browns and Butlers ate dinner together, talked on the phone regularly, and watched each other's homes and pets when the other family was out of town.
"He's the type of neighbor who looks out for everyone here," Lori Butler said. "He calls me late at night sometimes when I forget to close my garage door."
The neighborhood watchman was a former Marine and Vietnam veteran. He was also a proud Oakland Raiders fan, the Butlers said. His Chevy license plate read: "#1 Raiders Fan."
"He would sit out there with his dog and wave every time we drove by," Lori Butler said. "He's just a wonderful neighbor that we're going to greatly miss."

Both sides of the highway were closed for hours on Wednesday. The westbound lanes reopened around 9:40 p.m.
