Dog recovering at vet after being stabbed in throat, near eye

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A dog is recovering in Katy after a brutal attack.

Rene Vasquez, with Fort Bend County Animal Services, said Rose was taken in for treatment after she was found with multiple stab wounds in Pleak, just off Highway 36.

Rose, a 3-year-old Pitbull mix, was stabbed about 15 times and one of the wounds may have affected her trachea. She was also stabbed near her eye.

“They didn't look like they were punctures. It looked more like cuts or stabs and they are all around her neck. She also has some damage at the top of her head as well,” Vasquez said.

Rose was taken to a facility in Katy for blood work, X-rays and to determine her options for recovery. They are also trying to find a foster family for the injured dog.
