HUFFMIN, Texas – Firefighters spent several hours Sunday battling a garage fire at the Huffman mansion of boxing legend George Foreman.
The fire was reported about 10 p.m. at the home on Martelly Way at Lake Common Way.
Firefighters said they arrived to find thick smoke coming from the garage, and they were able to quickly extinguish the fire once they found it.
Rachel Moreno, of the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office, said about 40 cars were being kept in the garage at the time of the fire, but none of them appeared to be damaged.
“Right now, it looks like the cars are in pretty good shape,” Moreno said. “We do have an origin that’s in the back of the garage, but there is a lot of smoke damage and water damage.”
In a tweet, Foreman said “all is well,” and thanked firefighters for their work.
Don’t worry all is well, Dogs are barking and I don’t mean my feet.
