HOUSTON – A person was killed in a crash in northwest Harris County after a tractor-trailer hauling five vehicles crashed on FM 2920 at Hegar Road.
Investigators said traffic was backed on Hegar Road and a woman in an SUV was caught in the jam. She said she noticed the 18-wheeler driving toward her. The woman said it seemed like the truck was unaware of the traffic jam, so she swerved her SUV left to avoid the truck, officials said.
The truck also swerved left, striking the SUV. Investigators said the truck flipped, killing the driver of the truck. The woman in the SUV was OK, officials said.
Harris County authorities are advising drivers to avoid the area.
