Authorities said workers were mowing lawns in the area when one of the men driving a tractor hit the gas line, causing an explosion. Two of the workers were taken to a hospital with moderate injuries and are in stable condition.

A shelter-in-place order was issued but has since been lifted and evacuees have returned to their homes, officials said.

Firefighters will continue to monitor a 100-yard perimeter of the pipeline.
