The shooting was reported around 5 p.m. in the 20300 block of Yosemite Falls Drive to a call about a large crowd of juveniles fighting and reports of a gunshot.

Officials said the juvenile was taken to Tomball Hospital, where he went into surgery.

Folks' husband said the altercation started with ongoing conflicts between their daughter, a boy and his older sister. He said the boy and his sister started to bully their daughter after several confrontations involving all of the different parties.

He said when his daughter rejected the boy and at some point punched him in the stomach, the boy told his sister, who then started to bully Folks' daughter.

The husband said his wife came driving up trying to defend their daughter. He said his daughter and other students attend Klein Cain High School.

Folks was arrested and was being held at the Harris County Jail.
