ROSENBERG, Texas – Three people are dead and one other is injured after a man shot at his ex-girlfriend and her relatives and then turned the gun on himself Tuesday afternoon, Fort Bend County deputies said.
The shooting was reported around 2:39 p.m. A road and bridge employee working on Highway 36 and Comanche Boulevard called deputies after he said he saw a man shooting into a vehicle, according to Caitilin Espinosa, a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office.
There were three different crime scenes.
First crime scene
Deputies said Juan DeLeon Jr., 42, chased his ex-girlfriend in a vehicle onto Highway 36 while firing shots at her and the bullets busted out the ex-girlfriend's back windows. The woman was injured during the shooting but the injuries were not life-threatening, officials said.
The woman was transported to a hospital, where she told deputies to check on her relatives at her family's home, where she also lives, officials said. She was treated for her wounds and released from the hospital Tuesday, authorities said.
Second crime scene
Upon arrival at the home in the 5000 block of Navajo Road, deputies found a man dead outside the home and a woman dead inside the home, officials said.
Espinosa confirmed late Tuesday that the woman was the ex-girlfriend's mother and the man was her brother.
Third crime scene
Espinosa said DeLeon, who lives in the same neighborhood as the victim, drove back into the neighborhood and shot himself in the head inside his vehicle.
DeLeon was flown to a hospital, where he later died.
