HOUSTON – Houston is in the World Series and that means the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales are in town.
On Tuesday, the horses made the rounds in Midtown.
"A lot of times people just see them on commercials and TV," says their handler Rudy Helmuth. "This gives them an opportunity to see them up close and personal."
The big horses, with their police escort, certainly drew a crowd, with people stopping and walking up to take pictures.
"Oh, they're beautiful," Astros fan Jen Bautista said. "I love them."
For business owners in Houston -- even with the Astros 1,500 miles away for Games 1 and 2 of the World Series -- business is also beautiful.
Almost every eatery in Midtown had the World Series on TV and had plenty of customers.
At the Front Porch Pub on Gray Street, managers said revenue from the baseball-loving crowd will be higher than Super Bowl levels were in February.
"You get seven games in a series if they stretch it out," said manager Andrew Coulter. "Those days actually equal and it will turn out to be a better revenue dollar."
The story is the same at Pub Fiction, a few blocks away on Smith Street.
""As far as compared to regular season, postseason games, during ALCS championship games I think we tripled business," said Pub Fiction manager Daut Elshani. "Yes. Absolutely."
When asked how it feels as an owner to triple business, Elshani smiled and said, "It feels great, feels great."
