Jimmy Dean launches new plant-based sandwiches to meet demand

HOUSTON – Jimmy Dean is joining the plant-based club.

The release of two new plant-based sandwiches was aimed to meet consumer demand for alternative meat options, the company said in a press release.

The Texas-based company launched their new line of alternative meat options Wednesday with a video announcement on Twitter made by real Jimmy Dean fans on their Twitter account. Among those were families from Texas.

The two sandwiches, one including with a plant-based sausage patty, egg, cheese, and croissant have hit Sam’s Club and other undisclosed stores already.

The other, a breakfast sandwich frittata made with black beans, soy, quinoa and egg whites will be released this Spring, according to the release.

Jimmy Dean is offering fans to try out the new sandwich by sharing how their breakfast helps them start their day by using the hashtag #JDPlantBasedPatty and #Sweepstakes. Winners will receive a year’s worth of savings for a Sam’s Club gift card and a $20.00 gift card to purchase the new sandwiches.
