LIST: Winter weather prompts school district, university closures in Houston-area

These area schools have announced closures due to wintry weather

HOUSTON – There are several school districts and universities in southeast Texas that will be closed or under early dismissal ahead of winter weather expected to impact our area this week.

College of the Mainland - Closed Friday, Feb. 4

Houston Baptist University - Closed Friday, Feb. 4

Houston Community College - Closed Friday, Feb. 4

Lone Star College (all campuses) - Closed Friday, Feb. 4

University of Houston-Clear Lake - Closed Friday, Feb. 4

University of Houston-Downtown - Closed Friday, Feb. 4

Prairie View A&M - Classes to be remote Friday, Feb. 4

San Jacinto College - Closed Friday, Feb. 4

Texas State Technical College - Campus closed Friday, Feb. 4. Online/remote classes will continue.

Texas A&M University at College Station - Closed Thursday, Feb. 3

University of St. Thomas - Closed Friday, Feb. 4

The University of Texas at Austin - Closed Friday, Feb. 4

Wharton County Junior College - Closed Friday, Feb. 4

Rice University - All classes will be remote on Friday, Feb. 4
