Suspect in custody after opening fire at Humble PD officers during traffic stop in N. Harris County, officials say

HUMBLE, Texas – Authorities with Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot at Humble police officers before fleeing on foot Friday afternoon.

It happened at FM 1960 near Deerbrook Park Boulevard in north Harris County around 2 p.m.

Officials with Humble PD said officers conducted a traffic stop on the suspect on FM 1960 Bypass and Townsend Boulevard. That was when, police said, the driver got out and fired at the officers and they returned fire. Police said the suspect and officers were not injured but that an officer had a bullet go through his pants leg.

The suspect later fled on foot toward a nearby apartment complex. At around 3:55 p.m. Harris County Precinct 4 Constable said the suspect was taken into custody.

It is unknown why the suspect fled.
