Houston police responded to a fatal shooting on the main lanes of State Highway 288 South Saturday evening.
According to police, the victim, 28, and a female passenger, 25, had left an area club and were following behind friends who were in another vehicle when the shooting occurred on the highway near MacGregor around 8:40 p.m.

HPD officers called to respond found a male in a BMW suffering a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His female passenger was also wounded. Police said paramedics treated her at the scene.
The friends who had been ahead of the BMW driver did not witness the shooting, according to police. They found he had been shot when they circled back and discovered his car on the highway.
It is not yet known what prompted the shooting, and there is no description currently available of the suspect.
