2 suspects charged in connection to teen’s shooting death, Houston police say

HOUSTON – Two men face charges in connection to the March shooting death of a 17-year-old, according to Houston police.

Alfonso Gonzalez, 18, is charged with murder and tampering with evidence and Jose Garza, 18, is charged with tampering with evidence in the fatal shooting of Dominic Partida on March 20.

Police said they responded to a shooting at about 1 a.m. that day in the 900 block of Woolworth Street. On arrival, they found Partida injured near his home. The teenager had been shot in the chest.

Paramedics transported Partida to a hospital at the Texas Medical Center where the teen was pronounced dead.

An investigation identified Gonzalez and Garza as suspects in the case. Gonzalez was arrested without incident on April 11. Four days later, Garza was arrested and charged.
