HOUSTON – Instead of sharing smiles on Christmas Day, the Casillas family shared heart-wrenching tears.
Now, they’re hoping Houston police can help offer some sort of closure.
”They didn’t even give him a chance,” said Sandy Casillas about her brother Luis who was killed just 2 days before Christmas.
”It’s been a hell these three, four days,” said Luis’ brother Jose.
Back on Dec. 23, the 29-year-old father of two was gunned down outside of his northside mechanic shop on North Freeway near Little York.
His family says witnesses stated that they saw six males pull up in two trucks with semi-automatic weapons.
”Chased him down all these buildings,” Sandy said.
”By the time my brother came out that door, a guy was waiting over by the white truck, and he put him on his knees and they shot him in the head,” Jose added.
They say he was shot following an argument because a customer didn’t want to pay for repairs
”How do I explain that to our nieces? They’re two and three,” Sandy said.
The family spent the day together cleaning out Luis’ mechanic shop.
For the new year, they have one wish. Justice.
”They’re still out there celebrating Christmas, New Year. On Christmas Day, we were out there choosing a casket,” Sandy said.
Luis is being buried Thursday.
Sandy says she’s been getting death threats for seeking justice, but that won’t stop her.
No arrests have been made, but the family there is lots of surveillance footage that can help. The family and Houston police are hoping someone comes forward with information about this murder.
