Wanted felon arrested, charged after assaulting deputy investigating disturbance, Pct. 4 says

HOUSTON – A man was taken into custody and charged after allegedly assaulting a deputy who responded to a disturbance call, according to Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office.

On Jan. 8, deputies responded to the 10800 block of FM 1960 Road W in reference to a disturbance. Upon arriving, they were approached by a male who allegedly began to threaten them.

Deputies attempted to detain the suspect, but he resisted and assaulted a deputy. After a brief struggle, the suspect was safely apprehended and identified as Paul Chaney, who had an active felony warrant for terroristic threat against a police officer.

Chaney was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the outstanding felony warrant and additional charges were filed for retaliation and assault on a police officer.

His bond had not been set, as of Jan. 11.
