Soldier killed, 5 others injured in tactical vehicle accident at Fort Bliss

FORT BLISS, Texas – A U.S. Army Soldier was killed and five others were injured in what authorities describe as a tactical vehicle accident at Fort Bliss in west Texas Friday.

Fort Bliss and the 1st Armored Division confirmed the accident. They said it happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. (MST) in the Fort Bliss training area.

Maj. Gen. James P. Isenhower III, the senior installation commander of Fort Bliss and the 1st Armored Division, said that our thoughts and prayers are with the Soldier’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
