Harris County district court judge accused of punching woman, placing foot on her neck

GALVESTON, Texas – A Harris County district court judge was charged with family violence in Galveston after being accused of punching a woman with his fist and putting his foot on her neck, court documents read.

Frank Aguilar, the 228th district court judge, was charged with assault causes bodily injury/family violence and arrested on Sunday.

Galveston police were dispatched to the scene in the 9600 block of Teichman Road around 1:30 a.m. due to an assault. Officers arrived and found a woman who had been injured, and she told them what happened.

The victim said Aguilar and her had a party and had drinks with other people who lived near their residence. The victim and another woman got into an argument, then the victim went back home with Aguilar.

Aguilar then allegedly cursed her out at the home.

Documents stated that he told her she could not fight people downstairs, then he punched her in the face and head. She then fell to the ground, and he put his foot on her neck and chest and yelled at her, according to documents.

The victim told him she couldn’t breathe, and he removed his foot off her and walked away. Police later arrived.

Aguilar told police the victim was highly intoxicated and began throwing beer cans in the house and at him. According to authorities, he told them he didn’t know how she was injured.
