Pedestrian killed after being hit by truck in NW Harris County

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a truck on Saturday in northwest Harris County, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said. (kprc)

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a truck on Saturday in northwest Harris County, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene after a Harris County Precinct 1 deputy constable witnessed the crash. The incident happened in the 2500 block of West Mount Houston Road at approximately 9:50 p.m.

A pedestrian crossed the road where there was not a cross walk and was hit by a truck. The pedestrian was knocked away about 150 feet from the crash.

A second vehicle was able to swerve and not hit the person.

The deputy constable was also traveling behind the truck during the crash.

The driver of the truck stopped and stayed on the scene. Authorities said they were not intoxicated.

Deputies also said there were no streetlights in the area.

This crash is still being investigated.
