HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A woman is dead and a man has been taken to a hospital after a shooting during a fight in north Harris County Sunday.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, it happened in the 22700 block of Imperial Valley around 10:30 a.m.

Deputies responded to the scene after receiving numerous calls of a shooting.
They arrived to find a man and woman had been shot.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
The sheriff’s office said the preliminary information is that the man and woman arrived at an apartment complex and began banging on the door of an apartment unit. They said it appears the two may have tried to gain access to the apartment.
The people inside the apartment opened the door to find out what was going on and an altercation happened between two men.
The man from outside and the man inside the apartment began fighting. The sheriff’s office said at this time, a woman inside the apartment grabbed a pistol and shot both the man and woman who had come to the apartment.
Another man and two children were inside the apartment when the shooting happened. The children were unharmed and the man is being evaluated for an unrelated injury.
It is believed that the two couples knew each other.
